Steve Hurst School Of Music

The past week has been a stretching, wonderful time of learning for the penners. We arrived at the Steve Hurst School of Music on sunday and by tuesday evening we all agreed our minds were about to blow up with all the information. :) The end of the week really flew by though and we're excited about all we've learned! There was a total of 24 organized singing teams, along with many vocalist, piano, songwriting, and sound board students. The week ended on friday with a graduation concert where Julia, Steph, and Tania helped sing in the 150+ member choir!

On the road and blessed!

Well, it's been a week now since we pulled out our driveway and our status changed from "at home" to "on tour". We had a prison service scheduled for thursday afternoon, and got there in time, only we needed a place to park to get ready. We soon realized we weren't anywhere near a Walmart (normal parking spot), but we spotted what we thought was a park. We decided to pull in... as soon as we turned into the driveway, a man comes walking up to us. Dad stopped the bus, and talked with him for a bit, and He graciously informed us that we were more than welcome to park there. To make a long story short, him and his wife had been praying for 1 1/2 years that somehow they'd find some connection to get them involved in prison ministry. Needless to say, they came to our service that afternoon and again that evening. They were overwhelmed at how God had brought us there at that time an place in answer to their prayers... What a "God thing"!

They gave us this basket of freshly picked strawberries - so delicious!

The girls ready to go into prison

After the prison service that afternoon, we had a concert in a church in the evening. This sweet, native family serve us a wonderful supper of moose stew!

Scenery along the way!

Tyrell and Lonita like to take advantage of every opportunity to get off the bus and get some fresh air

Little old church, extremely hot weather, but very friendly, hospitable people

The kids all "costumed" and ready for "Faith in God"

As a reward for singing in 95f weather (and no AC) they served us banana splits after the concert :)
(yes, we like this kind of people)

let the sound of his praise be heard"

Tania's beautiful cake decorating skills
Tyrell and Lonita are finally enjoying alot of "outdoors" at home.
Here they're picking chamomile flowers for Mom.

Lonita runs inside to give her mom and sisters some Poppy flowers...

We've enjoyed lots of baking during these few weeks - def a favourite thing to do among the Penner Girls!
Preparations are already being made for the next tour... the few weeks at home seem awfully short, yet we're excited to "hit the road" again.
Please keep us in your prayers!

A number of requests have been made for a blog of the team so here goes... we'll give it a try and do our best to actually keep it up to date and interesting :)
The sisters enjoyed a day of hiking when on tour in Kenora, ON.
